Kenn Clarke (at left, yes, with 2 "N"s) was a farmer in Northwest Indiana who was also a fairly popular draw in small pubs and lounges around the area. I have Kenn to thank for encouraging me to (well, practically blackmailing me into) do my not-yet-totally-defunct mellow solo acoustic act.

For a while Kenn had a duo going with the guitarist seen here - I don't remember his real name, he went by the handle "Slick" - and he really was quite good. He had a day job in some small town music store and he got me a nice deal on the high-end Takamine I still have today (he pretty much hated that guitar I was playing here and he was right!) Somewhere along the line we experimented with this trio which had the potential for some nice CS&N style vocals. I think this was the only public appearance of the trio and I don't remember why we didn't pursue it. Probably I was back to school and didn't have time.

Those are my mountain-biking shades. I seem to remember it was about 105 F. on that stage, which I think may be the Lafayette, Indiana courthouse. I still have the shirt. Good one, isn't it?
