| Walkin' Man [ Lyrics ] |
A bluesy little acoustic & slide guitar tune that just slipped out one morning while I was messing around in my home studio (such as it is). Not polished in the studio - this is pretty much how I sound live. Walkin' Man is one of the tunes in my Creative Commons Project. | MP3 |
| City Bar Boogie [ Lyrics ] |
Jazzy boogie-woogie tune featuring blues harp. Inspired by and dedicated to the good folks who used to run and hang out at the former City Bar in St. Petersburg. Another Creative Commons Project tune. | MP3 |
| Don't Let Your Babies be Presidents | A little satire inspired by the manic presidency of George W. Bush. Sung to the tune of Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys,
originally performed by Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. This song is a derivative work created for the purpose of satire and criticism which I (and my attorney) believe to be permissible under the "Fair Use" doctrine codified in Section 107 of Title 17 of the United States Code. |

| St. James Hospital | This is a US American traditional song that dates from sometime in the 19th century. There are many variations of the lyrics, wording of verses, and the order of verses. The theme of the young cowboy who has squandered his life foolishly runs through all versions I've encountered. I combined elements of a couple of arrangements I've heard plus added a few touches of my own: I thought the harmonica worked well, and as for the electric piano – just a touch of weirdness. | MP3 |
| Parting Thoughts [ Lyrics ] |
In memory of Vigrinia Lewis Palomo 1922-2010 I penned the lyrics on a plane from St. Petersburg to the U.S. the day after my mom passed away. I played the tune at her memorial service. I think the melody is an old Scottish one. |
